I arrived in Almvik/Sweden on the 11th of July - just in time to attend the Ratha Yatra Festival in Stockholm on the next day....
The political situation in Ukraine had become very disturbed, with tensions and violence escalating and leading to what we could almost call a civil war. Since at this point it had been a localized problem in the very Eastern part of Ukraine in the cities of Donetsk and Lugansk I decided to nevertheless visit the devotees in Kharkov, which is around 250 km's away from the war zone.
It is the yatra where I have been spending most of my time when visiting Europe, giving association, inspiration and service consistently over the past years. It is also the city which is closest to the Russian border - only around 80 km's. It easily could become the next place of crisis, if the violence would spread to other cities..... |
